Zumba Gold Classes have switched from Mondays to Tuesday early evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 PM.

PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE - Abington's Public Health Nurse is available for Abington residents of ALL Ages. The Abington Board of Health in conjunction with the Council on Aging now offer the Public Health Nurse at the Abington Senior Center with expanded hours. The nurse, who is a staff member of the Norwell VNA will generally be available to Abington residents at the following locations:
Every Monday 9:30AM - 12:30 - Abington Senior Ctr
1st Tuesday of Mth 9:30 - 12:30 - Leavitt Terrace
2nd Tuesday of Mth 9:30 - 12:30 - Shaw Ave
3rd Tuesday of Mth 9:30 - 12:30 - Chestnut Glen

ABINGTON COUNCIL ON AGING: Senior lunches $4.00, meals on wheels, cost $3 suggested donation; health/hearing/aid screenings; shopping/medical/errand van; elder law clinics by appointment; reverse mortgage advice; Are You OK?; line dancing; computer classes; bereavement support (6:30 p.m. first Thursdays, Abington Public Library), food pantry (Tuesday evenings, St. Bridgets Hall). Weekday activities: Bingo (Mondays/call for time), cribbage, shopping van, workout, computer classes,Tai Chi, chair yoga, quilting, knitting/crocheting, line dancing (2:15-3:30 p.m. Friday, St. Bridget’s).

Outreach: Many of you have had occasion to meet with our Outreach/S.H.I.N.E. Coordinator, Valerie O’Loughlin , over the years regarding Medicare, Prescription Advantage, food stamps or any of the other services offered to seniors age 60 and older in Abington. Outreach will assess a senior’s needs through an office or home visit and work with them to complete forms for help and entitlement, make referrals for services, troubleshooting and general advocacy.
