TAX ASSISTANCE will be available at the Senior Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from February to April. Please call to make an appointment.

PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE - Abington's Public Health Nurse (Available for ALL Ages) now has expanded hours at the Senior Center. The Abington Board of Health in conjunction with the Council on Aging have agreed to move the Public Health Nurse's base of operations to the Senior Center. The nurse will be available to ALL Abington residents regardless of age at the following locations:
Every Monday 9:30AM - 12:30 - Abington Senior Ctr
1st Tuesday of Mth 9:30 - 12:30 - Leavitt Terrace
2nd Tuesday of Mth 9:30 - 12:30 - Shaw Ave
3rd Tuesday of Mth 9:30 - 12:30 - Chestnut Glen

Facility Rental

A long line serving some of the 230 people who came for the great food and companionship at the 2009 Taste of Abington. The tall fellow to the right is Bob Wing, former Abington Selectman and owner of Abington's Submarine Galley. To the right of him is Norma Clark, the COA Outreach Coordinator.

Please consider renting at the Senior Center.  With 12,544 square feet of space including an auditorium, large dining area, and a truly great kitchen we are happy to host private and public parties , meetings and/or fundraisers.  We are a perfect fit for medium to large events.

Please note – beginning July 1st, 2011 the new rental rate will be $200 for a rental of either the Dining room and kitchen or the Auditorium for up to 4 hours.  Also, please note, if food is being served or there will otherwise be any need to clean up there is an additional charge for our custodian.  Selling of any alcoholic beverage at the Senior Center is prohibited without purchase of a liquor license from town hall and prior approval of the Abington Selectmen.

The COA and Senior Center staff are also proud to host events sponsored by the town, including the schools and health department.  Please contact one of the Director’s to reserve a date for your event.   In the event of any issues concerning the Abington Senior Center, Suzanne may be reached directly at 781-771-9889 and David may be reached at 781-718-7200.
